Our Technology

The H2O Neutralizer design is based on a modified venturi mounted in a lateral bypass chemical induction control block.  By creating a pressure differential with an internal orifice ring mounted within the main barrel of the device device a portion of the water that flows through the device is forced through the lateral bypass and through the modified venturi.  

Water flow through the venturi creates a vacuum within the bypass that draws a side stream of liquid into the control block which mixes with water flowing through the bypass and then is injected back into the main barrel of the device to mix with main water flow through the device. 

By adjusting the concentration of chemical being drawn into the bypass to match the residual concentration needing to be injected into the main water flow through the device, total dechlorination of the water flow can be achieved.  By using this same process to inject chlorine through the device you can also deliver chlorine at the concentration needed to treat waterlines being serviced.

The H2O Neutralizer was originally created to provide a means of injecting dissolved ascorbic acid into chlorinated water as a means of neutralizing residual chlorine.  This need came to light when a water quality official in Skagit County, Washington was made aware of a fish kill of 25,000 salmon fry, recently planted by students of a local elementary school as a class project, resulting from an accidental release of super chlorinated water into a local stream.

Founded in 2000 to produce high quality field chlorination and dechlorination equipment for the water utility industry, Measurement Technologies came into being to manufacture the H2O Neutralizer®; the first lateral-by-pass venturi-induced chemical injector for chlorination and dechlorination in water pipeline construction and maintenance.

While the device was originally designed for use with ascorbic acid Measurement Technologies now offers Calcium Thiosulfate Solution premixed and ready to use as an alternative to more expensive and highly acidic ascorbic acid.
